CORT: “Why We Give”

July 2, 2019

CORT Story

“We are extremely honored to partner and donate furniture at the recent fundraiser luncheon for the Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico. The hard work that SHC does each and every day to help the community and provide people a better place to live is extraordinary. At CORT, we also believe that everyone deserves a place that is permanent, safe and secure. We are extremely proud to have met with the SHC team and look forward to a great partnership in Albuquerque. CORT currently works with over 250 nonprofit organizations across the country to help make homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring and we are looking forward to being a part of the efforts in Albuquerque.”

In February of this year, Todd Shell, National Director, from CORT Furniture called to see what they could do to help SHC achieve its mission of ending homelessness. With our Welcome Home Luncheon right around the corner, we suggested partnering with us for this event. CORT donated three rooms of furniture for the silent auction. Attendees bid on the furniture and all winners donated the furniture right back to SHC for newly housed tenants. Todd, along with Nathan Butler, Regional VP of Operations, Christi Zimmerman, Account Representative and Leroy Thompson, District General Manager (pictured bottom right) attended the event and also made personal donations. The furniture has been delivered to newly housed SHC tenants. Thanks to all of you for helping SHC end homelessness for good!
