He spent 18 years in higher education with various colleges and universities before returning to Albuquerque where most recently he has served as the Director of Advancement for St. Pius X High School. He has successfully raised millions of dollars for the YMCA and higher education through capital campaigns, planned giving and annual fund drives. He is a certified fund raising executive and serves on the board for the Rotary Club of Albuquerque and the Good Shepherd Center.

Steve is married and he and his wife Angel Wells Ross have fifteen grandchildren. His hobbies include competing in Masters’ track and field where he is a former National Champion in the shot put, and playing the guitar and singing. Steve is excited to be a part of the great team at SHC as the Executive Director. “As one who has served as both a volunteer and consultant to organizations working with the homeless, I understand how critical it is to support someone in getting housing first.”
