Laura Sandoval

As Director of Community Housing, Laura oversees SHC-NM’s programs for Tenant-Based Rental Assistance, Move-in and Eviction Prevention, Crisis Housing, and Service Coordination. She recently moved to Albuquerque from Los Angeles, where she worked for the past 10 years in supportive housing and mental health services. She has worked with persons emerging from homelessness in a range of settings including outreach, safe haven, VASH, individual therapy, and permanent supportive housing. As a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, Laura promotes principles of hope, empowerment, and community, with a focus on developing communities that promote meaningful roles and quality of life. Laura earned her master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach and a baccalaureate in Intercultural Studies.
